No kids around

Outdoor games for children have always aroused two extremely contrary emotions in me: joy and a feeling of unease. This joy is of course associated with my happy memories of childhood games. As for uneasiness, it grips me when these same playgrounds are unoccupied by their toddlers. The shimmering colors do nothing, my brain screams dissonance ! I sometimes have this same nostalgia when looking at a few empty chairs at the corner of an aisle. Are there places and objects that absence cannot bear ?
